Erin Steel
SI FMT SMT
Massage Instructor

Erin was born in Utah and raised on the ski slopes and hiking trails, where an occasional tumble or full-blown yard sale of gear was a common casualty. Many of these misadventures were remedied by unnecessarily large bandaids and gentle massage, which may or may not have inspired false injuries for the sake of healing touch; and fueled Erin’s interest in corrective bodywork. As a Senior in High School, she attended Healing Mountain College of Massage in SLC and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2014 - where she went on to practice for 5 years asa n LMT and spa director. Over the years of working with clients who suffered from chronic pain, athletic injury, and aging bodies - Erin decided to set aside the hot towels and spa music to join Structura Body Therapies in hopes to find a more productive way to heal the body. While her interest in manual therapy began with the intrinsic energy systems, Erin’s love for anatomy was quickly uncovered and Structural Integration brought it to a whole new level. Following the work of Dr. Ida Rolf - Structura teaches the body is a whole and must be treated as a whole; and since coming to learn and work with the team, Erin has felt the effects of integration through giving and receiving work and the many ways that being in alignment affects every aspect of our lives.“Our bodies are a record of our history and every fragment is important to understanding the whole - I notice my own body shifts as I undergo life’s big changes and challenges. The different ways I react to stress, the response to emotional loss or changes in my environments, or how my body is adapting to seasonal changes - is directly reflected in the tissue. Creating space in the tissue helps in creating space for my body to move through life, and releasing theres frictions in my life makes space for me to care for my body.”
